Founded
in 1913, the Maison Française of Columbia University
is the oldest French cultural center established on an American
university campus. It is a meeting place for students, scholars,
business leaders, policy-makers and all persons seeking
a better understanding of the French-speaking world.
In addition to Featured Events, the Maison Française
of Columbia University offers a wide variety of events,
ranging from conferences and lectures to conversation groups
and weekly cinema sessions. We invite you to choose from
one of the categories at left to learn more.
The primary mission of the Maison Française is to
serve the extended Columbia University community, comprised
primarily of students, faculty, and members of the Société
des Amis de la Maison Française.
Unless otherwise noted, lectures and conferences are open
to the public. Students with current Columbia ID's have
access to all of the Maison's activities beyond these events.
All others are asked to join the Société
for the nominal fee of $35 per year.
The website is regularly updated and is very useful
with calendar of events for example.
