English Version
This association is a Masonic lodge, related to the Grand
Orient de France. It exists since January 13, 1900, since
this date without discontinuity. Founded by a group of French
masons, established in New York and who have obtained a
license with the Grand Orient.
It considers itself as a lodge of meeting between French
and American masonry, but also as a lodge of reception for
the expatriated masons. The number of members varies according
to years; there are mostly 60 members,
sometimes to 80 members. It is exclusively male. To become
a member, the aspirants can either voluntary or be co-opted
by a brother and then follow up of a process of investigation
and rites of initiation. Members are not only French, but
at least French-speaking the motivation of the French masonry
is basically different from Anglo-Saxon masonry (which is
turned towards charitable actions and religiously oriented,
when French masonry is dogmatic).
It is willing to think on oneself and on the society.
The projects for the future are to face the reduction in
the number of members, to acquire a building for the meetings
(the American lodges are prosperous and more visible. The
lodge does not act like a political relay, but express a
will of lighting. There is a very great diversity of the
opinions among the members; all the political tendencies
are acceptable as long as they promote human dignity.
On compte environ
60 membres permanents.
