French Institute Alliance Française

French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) is a not-for-profit
organization incorporated in the State of New York. Its mission
is to promote and enhance the knowledge and appreciation of
French and Francophone culture, to increase the knowledge of
the French language, and to encourage interaction among French,
Francophone and American people through programs in education
and the arts.
Founded
at the turn of 20th century, the French Institute and the Alliance
Française de New York operated as two separate organizations.
In 1971 they merged to form what has become one of the largest
and most respected centers of French-American activities in
the U.S: the French Institute Alliance Française.
Over 6000 students learn French at our Language Center, New
York's leading center for French language. The Haskell Library
is the most comprehensive private French library in the United
States. FIAF is a vibrant cultural force for New Yorkers of
all ages and backgrounds.

Le French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF) est une
organisation à but non lucratif, lié à
l'État de New York. Sa mission est de promouvoir et d'améliorer
la connaissance du français et de la culture francophone,
afin d’encourager l'intéraction entre français,
francophones et américains par le biais de programmes
éducatifs et les arts.
Fondée au tournant du 20ème siècle, le
FIAF de New York était géré comme deux
organisations distinctes. En 1971, elles ont fusionné
pour former ce qui est devenu un des plus grands centres d’activités
franco-américaines.
Plus de 6 000 élèves apprennent le français
au centre de langue française. La bibliothèque
Haskell est la plus vaste bibliothèque privée
française aux États-Unis… Le FIAF propose
ainsi de multiples activités.
Le FIAF est une force culturelle dynamique pour les New-Yorkais
de tous âges et milieux.
