FACE - French-American Cultural Exchange - formerly known as FACSEA, is a nonprofit organization, chartered by the state of New York.
FACE, is dedicated to nurturing French-American relations through innovative international projects in the arts, education, and cultural exchange. Housed in the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York, and overseen by a Board of Trustees, FACE serves an extensive network of patrons through its film-based programs and provides support to various initiatives through its partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.

Mission and objectives: To further French American cultural exchange and international understanding and to support contemporary creative work in the arts and education. To develop and nurture relationships between professionals in all creative fields, and to encourage collaborative projects between cultural and educational institutions. To combine the strengths of both the French and American traditions of support for the arts and education in one common initiative: French public support will include a long-term financial commitment, professional expertise through a close partnership with the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, and official endorsement of FACE’s mission and programs. American participation will take the form of private support from foundations, corporations, and individuals, which is made possible by the independence and flexibility of FACE’s administrative structure. French private support will also be sought.

FACE operates under the authority of a Board of Trustees and is managed by an Executive Director, with professional and logistical support from the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. To enhance FACE’s responsiveness to the needs of the arts and cultural communities in the U.S. and France, each program will benefit from the guidance of a program committee. The program committees will make recommendations of grants to be distributed, provide general artistic and intellectual orientation, and serve as cultural ambassadors to encourage new collaborations in their respective fields.
