The purpose of this non-profit society, founded in 1961,
is to help French people, or people with specific connections
with France, when they face difficulties of all kind. L’entraide
Francaise is there to bring moral and financial support
to the people who are old or lonely, who are facing issues
in their everyday lives like a divorce or a layoff, and
who need help in their mother tongue.
The board is made up of voluntary workers, who all come
from different horizons, there are lawyers, dentists…
The aim of Michèle Altier, the newly
elected president, is to give a real dynamism to the association.

Cette association a été fondée en 1961.
Le bureau est composé de volontaires bénévoles,
qui viennent de différents horizons, d'anciens présidents
sont encore aujourd’hui présidents honoraires,
il y a des avocats, des dentistes…
Le but de l’association est d’apporter un soutien
moral et parfois financier aux personnes en difficulté,
principalement des expatriés, dans les Etats de New
York, du New Jersey et du Connecticut.
L’objectif de Michèle Altier,
la nouvelle présidente, est de donner un nouveau
dynamisme à l’association. Le renouvellement
des membres suit le rythme des expatriés, tous les
quatre ans environ.
